It Had to Happen

I was talking to my dad this past Sunday and he apologized again for some of the things that happened in my past. And I told him, “it’s ok, it had to happen”.

This was HUGE for me. The relationship with my father had a huge impact on my teenage and young adult years. After the divorce, I was angry, alone, and felt the ultimate rejection. This had been my best friend, the man that I looked up to, and he had left me. It took years and many arguments before we were able to reconcile.

But this year, God has really worked on my heart. I went through a program called Freedom and was able to see that this trauma was necessary.

I know what you’re thinking. Necessary? Yes, necessary! I would not know God as the awesome Father He is without the absence of my earthly father. I would not have experienced the healing power and love that He had for me if life was perfect. I would not know how much strength, perseverance, or even love exists inside of me. But God is showing me. He has kept me. Most importantly, because of my past experiences, I am able to share with other ladies that there is life after that kind of heartbreak! I now am able to encourage others that you can soar despite life’s attempts to clip your wings.

You my friend, have a story too. And there is someone’s life you are meant to touch. Someone is in a similar situation to yours and needs to know that they can make it. They need to see that someone who has experienced the same heartache, frustration, and stress has already overcome the obstacles they currently face.

16 “So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that the commendable things you do will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.”

Matthew 5:16 TPT

Do not underestimate the power of hope! Hope sometimes can be the only thing that powers someone to get out of bed and seize their day.

You have a light inside of you… And somewhere, at some point, someone else’s story put a log, added fuel to that flame. Choose to go beyond your comfort zone and give someone else the same gift!
